Become an Agent of Change!
Helping youths develop important skills like art and free expression is good for improving their mental health and well-being. Giving students a creative outlet can help relieve stress and work through things happening in their lives. Today, more than ever, the To the Moon Program is crucial for our communities.
COVID-19 is definitely a challenge, but it didn't stop us!
During 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, To the Moon adopted new means of communicating and providing services to the students and their parents. The use of technology has amplified our creativity which has allowed us the privilege of providing uninterrupted services to the students and families.
Using technology, students are creating digital art, music, mobile apps and basic graphic design techniques.
About the Program
To the Moon is an Out-of-School Arts and Education program which is operated out of Erie Elementary Charter School and funded by the City of Chicago. Serving youths ages 6-12 from low-income families in Humboldt Park, To the Moon, provides a safe plus nurturing environment while the participants are engaged with art, companionship, social support and tutoring.
As a legacy of Youth Services Project (YSP), To The Moon Afterschool Program, has been successfully in operation at Rincon Family Services since 2017.
