Get Covered Illinois

Get Covered Illinois at Rincon Family Services is the official health insurance marketplace for the state of Illinois, created under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). It helps individuals, families, and small businesses compare, select, and enroll in affordable, high-quality health insurance plans.

What is it?
Get Covered Illinois operates through the federal Marketplace (HealthCare.gov) and serves as a centralized resource for Illinois residents to explore health coverage options. The program provides clear information about available plans, costs, and benefits, and connects eligible applicants with financial assistance to reduce premiums and out-of-pocket expenses.

Who can apply?
You may qualify for coverage through Get Covered Illinois if you:

  • Live in Illinois
  • Are a U.S. citizen or lawfully present immigrant
  • Are not incarcerated
  • Do not have access to affordable employer-sponsored coverage (with some exceptions)

Individuals and families across a wide range of income levels can apply, and many qualify for financial help based on income and household size.

How is it funded?
Get Covered Illinois is funded through the federal government under the Affordable Care Act, with additional support from the State of Illinois. The program is implemented through partnerships with community organizations that provide free outreach, education, and enrollment assistance.
