MAR Program — Medication Assisted Recovery

Recovery from opioid use disorder is possible, and you don't have to do it alone. The MAR (Medication Assisted Recovery) Program offers a comprehensive, person-centered approach that combines FDA-approved medications, clinical counseling, and holistic support to help you build a stable, lasting foundation for recovery.

What the MAR Program Includes

Medical Treatment
We provide access to three FDA-approved medications: methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone to help reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings, supporting physical stabilization and relapse prevention.

Behavioral Health Support
Licensed behavioral health professionals offer individual and group therapy sessions to address
the emotional, psychological, and behavioral dimensions of substance use and recovery.

Peer Support & Recovery Coaching
Our recovery coaches - individuals with their own lived experience in recovery provide
encouragement, mentorship, and accountability throughout your journey, helping you stay
motivated and engaged in your goals.

Case Management
Dedicated case managers help you navigate the practical challenges of rebuilding your life,
including:

  • Housing support and stability
  • Employment assistance and job training
  • Legal aid referrals
  • Connection to community resources

Substance Use Prevention & Overdose Response

Chicago Substance Abuse Prevention Services (CSAPS)
Rincon Family Services leads the CSAPS initiative, partnering with schools, youth organizations, and community groups across Chicago to prevent substance use among young people and to equip our broader community with life-saving tools.

Youth Prevention Education
We deliver evidence-based prevention programs in school and community settings, including:

  • Too Good for Drugs - A nationally recognized program that builds youth confidence, refusal skills, and healthy decision-making.
  • Not the Vibe - A youth-centered program addressing the social and health risks of marijuana use designed to resonate with today's adolescents.

These programs support students from elementary through high school in developing resilience, managing peer pressure, and understanding the long-term effects of substance use.

Public Awareness Campaigns
Our community campaigns are data-informed, culturally relevant, and co-developed with youth voices. They reach families through:

  • School-based activities and events
  • Posters, flyers, and community resources

Free NARCAN (Naloxone) Training & Kits

You Could Save a Life
In response to the ongoing opioid overdose crisis, Rincon Family Services offers free NARCAN. (naloxone) training and kit distribution to the public. No medical background required anyone can learn.
